THE FRESH OUTLOOK FOUNDATION - EDUCATION
The Fresh Outlook Foundation's passion is to "kindle a fresh outlook among British Columbian's that inspires
sustainable behaviors at home, work, and play." To that end, the foundation uses proven and practical
community-based social marketing principles and practices to educate specific groups of British Columbians
about sustainability, and to engage them in behaviors that support their communities' social, cultural,
environmental, and economic interests and objectives.
As the first step in the behavior-change process is education, the foundation creates resource materials to
meet the wants and needs of its target audiences. For example, the Building SustainAble Communities program for
local governments provides monthly e-zines, regional workshops, and an annual conference that were designed
specifically for elected officials and staff from regional, municipal, and First Nations governments, and from
irrigation/improvement districts throughout BC. The e-zines will be posted in the section starting in the fall
of 2007.
Educational resources for other programs will be posted as they are created.
